The bone-cutting workshop creation in the Arkhangelsk region became a project that united at once two major spheres of social and economic development - entrepreneurship support  and cultural heritage preservation. The importance of work in these areas has been repeatedly underlined by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

A new bone-cutting workshop appeared in the village of Lomonosovo in the Kholomogorsky district of the Arkhangelsk region. The implementation of the project became possible due to the activities of regional institutions for supporting entrepreneurship.

- I have been fond of carving on the bone for a long time, I graduated the bone-cutting school. I always wanted to organize a business on the basis of my favorite hobby, but, honestly, I did not know how, and I did not think it was possible. In addition, there was no money to buy the necessary machine with CNC, - said the bone-carter Igor Protsenkov. - I decided to take risks after my wife once went to a seminar for start-up entrepreneurs. She learned that if there is a so-called "business idea", one can turn to the entrepreneur's house where they will help with the registration of documents, and will advise what support measures can be used as a means to purchase equipment.

Recall that the work to identify and support local entrepreneurial initiatives began as a result of a working trip of the Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Orlov to the village of Lomonosovo in July 2017. In the second half of last year, the Kholmogory Business School was organized in Kholmogory, by the regional ministry of culture and the Arkhangelsk Region Development Corporation, during which eight tourism projects were trained and recommended to appeal to various development institutions for financial assistance.
As a result, the project of Igor Protsenkov was the first initiative supported by the STARTUP + program developed by the House of the Entrepreneur, in conjunction with the microcredit company, the Arkhangelsk Regional Development Fund.

So, in the line of one support institute, a beginner entrepreneur from the remote area received help when registering a PI, along the line of another - a preferential microsection for the purchase of equipment - loan funds for 12 months at 7 percent per annum.

Note that the program "STARTUP +" also provides for the possibility of granting a grace period - in this case, the first 11 months the entrepreneur will pay only interest on the loan. In addition, the whole year the project of Igor Protsenkov will be on escort in the House of the entrepreneur.

- The program "STARTUP +" was developed specifically for start-ups to make their first steps in business as comfortable and understandable as possible. It's no secret that the creation of one's own business involves a fairly high cost. That is why it is so important to link the development institutions that provide joint and consultative and financial assistance, - explained the Minister of Economic Development of the Arkhangelsk region Semyon Vuymenkov.

As the head of the regional department noted, this approach will allow increasing entrepreneurial activity in the region. It will be especially effective for entrepreneurs from remote areas of the region.

- Such programs allow supporting unique and very important business initiatives, which is the project of creating a bone-cutting workshop. At one time, Kholmogory's art of carving on the bone became the ancestor of the unique North Russian bone carving school. To develop this craft, while preserving the unique traditions that have emerged in its development, is very important today, "said Semyon Vuymenkov. - I note that today at the federal level as well, the need for work on the preservation of folk arts and crafts is recognized. Moreover, in December last year, the Government's order, approved by the President of the Russian Federation, approving the plan of measures for the preservation, revival and development of folk arts and crafts until 2019 was published.

Recall that earlier Vladimir Putin underlined that folk art crafts are part of our cultural code, that this direction requires the support of the state, without which they simply cease to exist in the modern world.
